LinkedIn Update Allows For More File Types To Be Uploaded.

LinkedIn Update that allows for a more visual experience

It has been roughly a month since the LinkedIn update introduced multimedia content on profile pages. It has now added a similar function to the homepage. With this LinkedIn update you can now upload and attach images, documents, presentations, and other file types to your status updates straight from the LinkedIn homepage. This update should be available to many, if not all users, and will allow you to make your professional story and accomplishments more visually appealing with your connected network.

“Whether it’s a thought-provoking presentation about the future of big data or it’s a picture of an inspirational quote, or perhaps it’s an infographic showing the top trends impacting your industry, the possibilities are endless for what you can share on LinkedIn to add a richer and more visual component to your professional discussions,” stated Itamar Orgad on the company blog.

Attaching these files to your status is a fairly strait forward process.  It is done the same way you would as if you were on a personal profile page.  All you have to do is click the paperclip on the top right side of the status entry box and select the file you would like to attach. If you want to really pack a punch in your status update, you could upload an attachment, and then paste a link to a video in the status box that corresponds to the attached file and status. LinkedIn also announced that the ability to directly upload images and files to its 2.9 million Company Page admins as well.  This means that if you’re an admin of a company page you don’t have to log into your personal LinkedIn account to share documents and presentations with your community. This allows businesses with large followings on LinkedIn to engage and interact directly through their company’s page.
